The debate over Intelligent Design

The debate over Intelligent Design being taught in the public school sector has begun today in a Pennsylvania court. The Dover Area School District authorized the mentioning of intelligent design in its science curriculum which primarily focuses on the teaching of evolution. A group of eight families represented by Pepper Hamilton LLP attorney, Eric Rothschild, argue that the idea of intelligent design is based on religious concepts rather than science. The Dover School District representatives state that they merely mention briefly the concept of intelligent design and refer students to another textbook called Of Pandas and People for those students who wish to learn more. The case will be heard by U.S. District Court Judge John E. Jones III.

I plan on following this one closely over the next few days. This is simply another example of how the extreme left wants to shut out God from our society using the courts and the education system.
