A federal judge unsealed a motion against Ahmed Omar Abu Ali in which it was revealed that he worked with al-Qaida and tried to mastermind an assassination attempt against the president. His defense attorneys state that he was tortured into confessing by Saudi officials aided by American FBI agents. I only have one problem with that claim. If he were tortured for the information and forced into giving a false confession, why would he claim that the assassination plan was his idea? Wouldn't he simply claim involvement in the plot as opposed to identifying himself as being the one that came up with the idea? I'm not buying the torture claim for a second.
