According to this report in the Mobile Register, people are lining up at Red Cross service centers in Mobile, AL in an effort to receive aid in the wake of Katrina. Red Cross spokespersons stated that walk-ins weren't being seen and that victims needed to call Red Cross shelters in their counties to set up appointments for aid. These people could be waiting up to two weeks to be seen for Red Cross aid, the article said.
