A new article on CNN.com
A new article on CNN.com points out that the toxicity of the water in NO, which they say contains everything imaginable from human waste to bleach, could severely damage the delicate wetlands essentially killing everything living in Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi Rivers where the water will be pumped. To process the water and remove the toxic agents would prolong the entire process and doesn't appear to be an option. While certainly the prospect of damaging the environment is minute at this point it could become a serious issue for the future of that area. Its something that could impact the way of life there when and if that area ever becomes habitable again.Technorati tags: katrina, hurricane katrina
