Gov. Blanco is going to

Gov. Blanco is going to appear in front of the congressional committee in the Brown questioning today. She's defending the charge that Brown made that she and Nagin waited too late to issue the mandatory evacuation. Brown claims that his biggest failing was not realizing how dysfunctional the local government in Louisiana was by Saturday. The mandatory evacuation of New Orleans was not ordered until Sunday morning according to the well documented timeline of events, which coincides with Brown's testimony.

According to an AP article today on ABCnews.com:

Blanco takes strong exception to a charge by Brown that she waited until the eve of the storm to order an evacuation of New Orleans. She says Brown's comment clearly demonstrates what she says is the "appalling degree" to which he's "out of touch with the truth or reality."
Well, the simple fact is that according to the timeline which was maintained daily during that period, Blanco and Nagin did,in fact, wait until the eve of the storm on Sunday to issue the mandatory evacuation of the city. It looks as though Blanco is the one out of touch with reality.
